Abstract The Humphries WWII Journals Collection comprises two personal wartime journals kept by members of the Humphries family during 1944 and 1945, documenting the Second World War from two very different vantage points. Elbert D. Humphries, a field artillery soldier, recorded his capture during the Battle of the Bulge and his months as a prisoner of war, including a firsthand account of the Allied firebombing of Dresden. M.C.
