Scope and Contents
The collection contains digitized issues of fourteen newspapers published in Opelika, Alabama, between 1872 and 2018, scanned from microfilm. The earliest title is the Opelika Weekly Observer, first issue October 17, 1872. The most recent is the Opelika-Auburn News, which continues through December 31, 2018. Each issue is a single PDF file. The collection documents nearly 150 years of daily life, business, government, and community events in Opelika and Lee County. Coverage is incomplete. The collection contains only the issues that were preserved on microfilm and digitized, and gaps exist within every title.
