Scope and Contents
The Fish Tales oral history collection documents the fishing culture of Opelika and Lee County through recorded oral histories, photographs, and ephemera. The collecton includes first-person stories of fishing on local waters, family photographs of catches and camps, and materials documenting local fishing spots, bait shops, and traditions. Recordings follow the library's oral history practices, and each contribution includes a signed release. This is an active collecting area. The Opelika Public Library welcomes contributions and invites residents to share their stories.
