Sounds of Opelika Project
Collection
Identifier: OPL005
Abstract
The Sounds of Opelika community sound collection is a growing library of field recordings made in Opelika and Lee County, Alabama, and donated by community members. This is an active collecting area. The collection captures the sonic character of the area: freight trains, birdsong, downtown street life, weather, machinery, and the everyday sounds of a community. Recordings are preserved for documentary value and offered for creative reuse in music, film, and sound design under licenses chosen by each contributor.
