Biographical / Historical
CoLab LLC is a coworking business founded in March 2019 at 216 S 8th Street in downtown Opelika, Alabama, in a building constructed by the F.W. Woolworth Co. in 1950. Owner Derek Hilyer renovated and expanded the building beginning in 2020, adding more than thirty workspaces. Elizabeth Boyle joined as community manager in 2021. By 2026, CoLab offered seventy-five private offices, dedicated desks, and coworking space at 216 S 8th Street and 606 Avenue A, with member amenities including mail and notary services and community events.
